Canadian Geothermal Heat Pump Industry Technology Roadmap

Apr. 10, 2012 – The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC), Canada's national industry association for geothermal heat pump technology, announces the release of an industry strategic report entitled Canadian Geothermal Heat Pump Industry Technology Roadmap. The document builds on the CGC market transformation initiative which has led to thousands of geothermal heat pump (GHP) system installations annually in Canada.

After a full year of industry discussions, an amazing number of ideas were identified to help take the industry into the next phase of its sustainable development. Well over a hundred individuals provided comments and participated in various activities during the roadmap development process between December 2010 and February 2012. The difficult task was to go through these ideas and pick those that best fit to help the industry at this point in time and translate them into a final roadmap. "The GHP industry is ready to take its position as a mainstream heating and cooling solution. This document puts forward strategies and initiatives that can be implemented by a variety of stakeholders, making the roadmap vision a reality" said Fraser Newton, Chairman of the Roadmap Steering Committee.
