Handbook of Best Practices for Geothermal Drilling

Feb. 03, 2011 – This 84-page report from the IEA Geothermal Implementing Agreement (GIA) presents a description of the complex process that comprises drilling a geothermal well. Its detailed chapters on various aspects of the process (casing design, cementing, logging and instrumentation, etc) focus on techniques and hardware that have proved successful in geothermal reservoirs around the world. GIA is an IEA international collaborative energy technology R&D programme.
