Industry advisory note - Ethanol handling

Apr. 19, 2011 – Due to a recent industry accident, a HRAI / CGC industry task group was formed to create a follow up membership alert regarding best practices and safe handling of Ethanol and Ethanol-Water mixtures used in geothermal loops. This document is designed to accompany the ethanol member alert that HRAI sent out in early September of last year and provides further direction to industry practitioners who are involved or working directly with ethanol and ethanol blends. The task group has also developed a more comprehensive document “Safe Operating Procedure for Handling Ethanol”.
