More patent applications for ground source HVACs in Korea

Oct. 23, 2009 – The Korean Industrial Property Office (KIPO) reports that 90 patent applications related to ground-source heating and air conditioning technology were filed in 2008. Patent applications for 2009 are up substantially, making an almost three-fold jump over 2008.

A breake down of the patent applications by type shows that 49% were for ground-source heat exchangers (150 applications), 29% were for heat pumps (89 applications), and 22% were for other related technologies (68 applications).
