New drilling insurance for GSHP in Germany

Nov. 17, 2011 – Aimed at increasing the confidence in ground source heat pumps the German heat pump association (BWP) has set up a comprehensive quality and insurance concept including training of drilling companies, a special insurance concept for borehole drilling as well as an emergency hotline for drilling companies.

In the German state "Baden-Württemberg" the new drilling insurance "hörtkorngeothermic" is a requirement for drilling boreholes through several ground water layers. With a single payment of 300 Euro for an ordinary single family house the owners can cover a loss amount up to 1 Million Euro.
