Test operation of a new spiral heat exchanger for GSHP

May. 16, 2011 – A new kind of spiral heat exchangers for ground source heat pumps (GSHP) has been developed by the Karlsruhe Insitute of Technology (KIT), Germany. The duration of the EMERGE project, funded by the German utility EnBW, was February 2009 to July 2010. Meanwhile, the so called "Erdwärmekorb" (ground heat basket) is operated in a test phase and researchers of KIT are planning to monitor the system in 2011.
